Are you a stranger to yourself?

How do we reconnect?

  1. Slow down and feel our bodies, feet, pelvis, heart

  2. Muti tasking can be over-rated and hard on our nervous system

  3. Spend time with another person who has a regulated nervous system. You can see that they breathe easily, are softer in their muscles and can look at you.

  4. Visit with someone that can help you slow down and give you good accurate reflection about what you might be feeling.

  5. Spend time with people that don't break you down.

  6. Spend time in nature, dance, sing, listen to music or do a hobby that helps you relax. These things produce happy hormones such as Oxytocin, Dopamine, serotonin and endorphins.

  7. Ask for help. We don't have to be good at everything and even if we are, we don't have to do everything! We don't have to be everyone's 'go-to' person.

  8. It's good to find someone that is skilled at helping others work through their history in a slow and gentle way so that you find and stay in the part of your nervous system that slows down the production of stress hormones like cortisol and adrenalin. Your body will start making more of the happy hormones. It can be hard to do this on our own in the beginning.

  9. Remember that if you are feeling anxious, this might be history from your earliest days showing up. We will start producing stress hormones by default wen we get in a situation that simulates a time and place when we were developing and integrating our first experiences in life. Our nervous system won't have the capacity to hold a container for the current circumstances if we didn't feel safe enough or supported enough when we were growing. It helps to have a regulated person that can hold the container and let us gently feel into the moment and remember that this discomfort is being reproduced from a moment in our history.

Slowing things down in a private 1-1 or group session can provide deep and lasting healing.

Always making space to see and love our pure essence.
