What does a perceived obligation to family loyalty cost? What are you giving up?

Bert Hellinger was the man that developed 'Constellation' work or 'Family and ancestral healing' as I call it.

He used to say that, "Sometimes you have to feel a little bit guilty". It is the cost of stepping away from the traditional, societal and family ways of doing things in order to be ourselves. This is autonomy. What price do we pay by being too loyal? How much of ourselves are we forced to give up?
