SELF DISCOVERY
Doesn't Have to Be Complicated.

Bev gently guides us back to the blueprint of our optimal-health by shedding light on misunderstandings that have been stored in the body by using Cranio Sacral therapy, Visceral manipulation and Ortho- Bionomy® techniques that stem from Osteopathy.  She also integrates Family & Ancestral Healing and Birth Imprint work.

It's helpful to have someone to be fully present to hear our story and to recognize the subtle nuances within it when healing old patterns. These are the places where we have usually been unconsciously pulled into the history of our family system. These dynamics tend to override our nervous system as a developing baby and young child and leave us feeling confused and misunderstood. It's in these places during a session that  we slow down with the facilitator and identify our confusion to gain clarity.  When we're given time to feel into our history and get some accurate reflection of the story, we can bring our brain and body together.

How would it feel to know that challenges you're faced with might be caused by unresolved trauma that was never yours to begin with?

What would happen for you if you were able to better understand how your family's traumas affected them and how the weight of those things might still live in your nervous system? What would your life look like if you were to see where your self doubts and feelings of inadequacy first came in?  Once we start to recognize the source of our pain and be liberated from misunderstandings we can feel our true essence.

Family and Ancestral Healing

Family and Ancestral Healing

Family and ancestral healing gives us the opportunity to address our daily challenges by looking at them through our family lens.  If someone in our family before us has had unresolved trauma it tends to sit in the metamorphic field.  This field might be compared to an energetic grid. This energetic tension can be picked up by a family member that follows behind the traumatized one in a later generation. Out of an unconscious loyalty of love to their family member the unsuspecting younger one tries to relieve the burden for the parent or ancestor  by carrying the pain for them.

Here is a brilliant conversation describing Family and ancestral healing or 'family constellation work' as described by the developer, Bert Hellinger. In this interview Hellinger describes the work as it is done in a group setting. This work can also be done in an individual setting using objects to represent the family members instead of people because the work is phenomenological.

This work may help shed light on unconscious patterns in your family system and it may help you bring resolution to challenges in your life such as loss of love or connection with others, trouble with finances, health problems, addictions or feeling guilty or ashamed.

Cranial sacral therapy

The Cranial sacral system consists of a membranous tube, surrounding and protecting the brain and spinal cord.It is within this tube the cerebrospinal fluid is being pumped in a continuous rhythmic motion, which is known as the Cranial sacral rhythm. This tube extends from the bones of the skull, face and mouth, which make up the cranium, down to the sacrum at the base of the spine.  As the cranial pump produces and delivers cerebrospinal fluid, the nerves are being bathed with fresh nutrients vital to a healthy immune and central nervous system.

Working with the Viscera

Viscera” relates to the internal organs of the body, such as the liver, kidneys and intestines.  For proper functioning, there must be a synchronicity between the the motion of all internal organs and their surrounding tissues.  Each of the organs are moving to their own rhythm as the the cardiovascular system pumps blood, the lymphagions pump lymph and the Cranio Sacral system pumps Cerbral spinal fluids.  Due to imposed stresses on the organs and their connective tissues, the organs become compromised and efficient functioning becomes inhibited.  With a sophisticated touch proper function is re-established, thereby allowing structural integrity to the body.

Ortho- Bionomy®

Developed by Dr. Lincoln Pauls

Due to factors such as stress, accident, injury, improper posture an emotional trauma the nervous system becomes short circuited.  This can add more stress to the body as it tries to re-adapt.  Using positional release techniques the body's innate ability to find the 'right place' is then recognized and acknowledged. With a very gentle touch, the practitioner encourages the changes to take place by simply following the movements or taking the body further into the 'preferred' posture. By using these techniques the nerves that respond to muscle function will self balance and bring a sense of physical and emotional well being to the receiver.

Arthur Lincoln Pauls developed Ortho-Bionomy® in the early nineteen seventies. Born in Saskatchewan, Canada, he worked, among other roles, as a Judo instructor. Due to his personal injuries, he explored different body therapies and became interested in the study of Osteopathy. His journey took him to England where he studied and became a Doctor of Osteopathy. Dr. Pauls began teaching Ortho-Bionomy® in 1975.

The term Ortho Bionomy®, coined by Dr. Pauls, loosely translates as "The correct applications of the laws of life" or "The natural laws of life".

"Orth"= Straight, Correct

"Bios"= Life

"nomy"= The study of, the laws of

The principles and concepts the Ortho-Bionomy® facilitator works with are:

  • Being non-judgmental

  • Accepting and respecting people as the are

  • The facilitator does not have the need to fix or assess because the clients body has its own innate wisdom that knows better

  • Working with the concept that structure governs function

  • Releasing restrictions without causing pain

  • Exaggerating a preferred posture

  • creating a curve around a tender area

  • Stimulate the proprioceptive nerves (the small nerves that work with the muscles)

  • Waking up corrective reflexes that lie within the person

  • Movement toward ease and always working with the wisdom that less is more. By doing less, the facilitator allows the person's self corrective reflexes to do more. (Our bodies are so smart)

  • Follow on response (Once the body starts to recognize a rhythm, it will continue to follow it once the session is over) It's the gift that keeps on giving

  • The wisdom to know that the reaction to pain is contraction. (If it hurts, we're not doing Ortho-Bionomy®)

  • The facilitator is a witness and has empathy

"Throughout the past few years Bev has helped me through numerous periods of discomfort, such as numbness in my limbs and extremities, tension induced muscle pain, muscle and joint pain from past injuries and most recently, a serious and painful neck problem that just wouldn’t go away.  She had me free from this pain after just a few sessions.

I have also had profound changes and benefits to my digestive system through Bev’s visceral work.

I now call on Bev routinely whenever I’m feeling tension anywhere in my body and I know, through her gentle and comfortable work, she will help my body to release any tension I have been holding on to.

I highly recommend Bev and her mastery of Ortho-Bionomy to anyone who is looking for lasting relief through this comfortable and gentle work."
